Metal shield body
The Penn Battle II body is made of full solid metal and has a side plate, and rotor for more versatility. Its heavy-duty aluminum bail wire makes this fishing reel exceptionally durable. It’s quite light, but many people find that it’s slightly heavier. The reel can’t flex under extreme pressure when you are catching big fish. This sturdy reel can survive heavy use on a charter boat.
Carbon fiber drag system
Battle 2 has an HT 100 drug system, HT stands for “High Tech” and 100 means to tasting the equivalent of 100 miles of fishing line without getting any change of drag washer.
This HT 100 drug is made of carbon fiber that is coated on fiberglass. To create different washer sizes its large stiff sheet is cut into strips while going through a stamp line.
The drug system used keyed carbon washers beside the traditional felt washer, it lengthens the lifespan of the reel and provides a smooth non-jerky drag when loaded with a retreating fish. It’s possible to increase the drag pressure by 20% and provide smooth drag by accessing both sides of the washer.

With this 4000 model, you can add an 8-20lb braid line and 8-12lb mono line along with 6-7 fits medium rods, which has a 4-10kg line rating. The model is also adjustable with 8-10fits surf rods and has a light line rating of 3-5kg.

The 5000 and 6000 is the most popular model of the Battle 2 series and they are very strong for catching large and small fishes. The 5000 contains 19.80 Oz, which is much lighter than the 6000 weight 22.1 oz.
